by admin on Sep.25, 2009, under Uncategorized
So, since my last post about the Korg Kaossilator and the short demo track I finished, there has been a full-length album put up for free that uses only the Korg Kaossilator (and Ableton Live for recording).
You can download for free it here:

Animus (polar) and Harvester Mantra
by admin on Sep.25, 2009, under Uncategorized
I play in a metal band… We like to be loud, obnoxious, and cranking our mesa boogie dual rectifiers. With that said… sometimes after my ears bleed enough, I need to work on something a little less intense.
Here are two low-key ambient tracks I am working on for an upcoming art documentary:
Animus (polar)
and
Harvester Mantra
Feel free to comment; these are works in progress…
From Exile up until 2009
by admin on Aug.29, 2009, under Uncategorized
Since most of my work in the last couple years has been devoted to this band, I wanted to drop one heavy mega-post of content to get it out of the way;
First of all, our 2006 release is available for free download on our website, www.fromexile.com. We recorded it with the great Anthony Stubelek at his studio in Bruswick, GA. It was an awesome experience and although the record is almost 2 years old now, we are still very proud of it.
Here are some live videos;
Masquerade Oct. 5 2006
Masquerade Feb. 17 2007
Here is a clip of an acoustic set we did for Home Park Fest 2007:
Currently, we are recording a follow up EP with Eyal Levi (DAATH, Arsis), due in Summer.
Here is an original remix of an instrumental track off Crushing Reality:
Download the mp3 of “Phantom (illumination)” here
I can’t wait to finish this next recording, as it is a significant progression musically from our old material… It is almost like an entirely new band.
Check the From Exile Myspace or join the From Exile mailing list for regular show updates.

Nas “Hero” beat made in 60 seconds…. Waste of a producer budget?
by admin on Aug.25, 2008, under Uncategorized
So; this is how it works -
Producers sell rappers beats. Someone sold Nas this beat, probably for thousands of dollars since Nas is such a big name with a budget to spend and a name to uphold… The dude is tough enough to talk shit about jay-z for shits sake. This video shows how deep the producer for “Hero” went into tweaking the synth hook…
<object width=”425″ height=”344″><param name=”movie” value=”http://www.youtube.com/v/qEV0lxfI7Zo&hl=en&fs=1″></param><param name=”allowFullScreen” value=”true”></param><embed src=”http://www.youtube.com/v/qEV0lxfI7Zo&hl=en&fs=1″ type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” allowfullscreen=”true” width=”425″ height=”344″></embed></object>
Pretty lame that it takes 60 seconds and a stock synth preset that everyone with Native Instruments’ (very popular) Massive plug-in has to recreate a high-profile single… I think Nas is one of the better hip hop artists around, too bad that he got ripped off.. I would be embarrased, but, what do I know.
